Label That Tells a Story: NUMA & TECHNOLOGIA JSC’s Creative Synergy

A well-designed label is more than just packaging – it is a powerful marketing tool that tells a brand’s story, captures consumer attention and influences purchase decisions. From texture and colour to the intricate details of design, every element plays a crucial role in shaping how a product is perceived.

A premium label enhances brand recognition and creates an emotional connection with consumers, helping products stand out in a highly competitive marketplace. The right label builds trust, conveys quality, and ultimately drives sales.

As a leading manufacturer of premium alcoholic beverage labels, TECHNOLOGIA JSC provides high-quality, innovative labelling solutions tailored to the needs of modern beverage brands. Our advanced printing techniques, premium materials, and eye-catching designs ensure that every bottle leaves a lasting impression, enhancing your brand and helping you achieve your market goals.

In this exclusive interview, Giulia Pusceddu, Sales Manager and daughter of Franco Pusheddu, co-owner of NUMA Distillery, discusses the distillery’s rich heritage and the importance of premium labels to showcase the excellence of their refined spirits.

We are very grateful for the opportunity to explore the rich, 120-year distilling tradition of the Pusceddu family and to learn more about NUMA Distillery’s collaboration with TECHNOLOGIA JSC. Could you start by giving us a brief overview of NUMA Distillery and its mission within the alcohol industry?

The NUMA distillery has a tradition of more than 120 years, owned by the Pusceddu family. Between the work in the fields and the search for quality, the liqueur Generosa was born. In this context, the NUMA Distillery has its roots, owned by the Pusceddu family and linked to the territory of Tarquinia. The liqueur Generosa, once part of the local tradition, was lost in legend until the 90s, when Mario and Gianfranco Pusceddu, his descendants, brought it back to life. Already active in the family business, they founded a liquor factory, rediscovering the ancient flavors through modern techniques and using the herbs of Valle del Marta. Today, the liqueur of Generosa is reborn in Amaro, flanked by a range of excellent products: NUMA brandy, gin, liqueurs and vermouth. Each creation is the result of the same passion for quality that has guided the Pusceddu family for over a century.

In your experience, how important are labels in attracting consumer attention and driving sales?

In the course of our experience we have understood the great importance of the label for a bottle. The label has a decisive importance at the time of purchase, as consumers tend to affect the purchase in the first place for the aesthetics of the bottle.

How do you strike the balance between artistic design and functionality in your packaging? And what role does your label supplier play in this process?

In some cases, finding the balance between design and functionality of packaging can be very complicated. We manage to find this balance through an overall study with various tests and testing. At the end of this preliminary test phase, we combine the voucher with the final product.

You support us in this phase by helping us to find the perfect materials for each individual project.

Could you share how your collaboration with TECHNOLOGIA JSC first began?

Our collaboration with Téo starts when one of your employees visits us at the company and submits your projects. From that moment on we realized that with you we would have the possibility to create projects that would give a great value to our bottles.

What factors influenced your decision to choose us for your packaging needs?

The factors that have contributed to your label selection are determined by the technologies you use and their extreme precision and perfection. We mainly use metal and transferable labels, and those printed by you are free of aesthetic defects.

Congratulations on your remarkable victory at the 2024 World Spirits Competition in San Francisco! We are also proud to have contributed to the creation of the Vermouth NUMA label, which was truly the surprise of the year and won a gold medal. Could you tell us more about this project and the thought process behind the design and material choices for the label that set it apart from our other projects, such as Ginda, NUMA Special Reserve, NUMA Secundus Rex, and Tarquinia?

The design of the NUMA Vermouth label was born from the desire to take up the aesthetics of traditional Vermouth labels. Unlike our other labels, with Vermouth we chose to use a paper with embossed lettering that could give the idea of tradition but at the same time innovation.

How has our customer service and support enhanced your experience of working with us? Are there any particular instances where we’ve exceeded your expectations?

Your customer service is amazing! You accompany us every step from the moment of sending the first draft of the label until the moment we receive it in printed distillery.

We are grateful for our fruitful cooperation and look forward to its continued success. Looking ahead, what’s next for NUMA Distillery?

Our distillery is currently working on various projects, which we would like to have completed by the end of the year. Right now we are attending the San Francisco World Spirit with NUMA 2025, the label in this case is very different from all other NUMA brandies and you have undoubtedly exceeded all our expectations with the printing of this label.

Thank you so much! We wish you victory, and keep our fingers crossed.
